Amber Castleberry, MSN, APRN, CNM
Amber (she/her) says her journey to becoming a health care provider actually began with her journey into motherhood. She spent 6 weeks in the antepartum unit while pregnant with her twins, which gave her a peek into women’s healthcare and inspired her to pursue a career in nursing. She graduated with her Associates Degree from NCTC in Gainesville, TX in 2011, then worked as a labor and delivery nurse throughout the metroplex as she pursued her Bachelors degree from University of Texas at Arlington in 2014, followed by her Masters degree and training as a Nurse Midwife from Texas Tech University in 2019.
Amber has taken immense pride in her ability to bring the out of hospital experience into the hospital for most of her career, but she is looking forward to enjoying the birthing experience in the comforts of home with less interventions and more individualized care. She has a passion for mixing traditional and holistic methods to optimize health and wellness and her personal history with infertility gives her a unique perspective on this emotional subject. She also has a special place in her heart for the LGBTQ+ community and has served as a surrogate twice for the most amazing set of dads.
In addition to her two surrogate VBAC deliveries, Amber stays busy at home with her three children; teenaged twin boys and a younger daughter. Her husband, Anthony, is a US Army Veteran and continues to serve our community as an LEO. Amber loves to travel, read, and take on DIY projects in her family’s home in her free time.
As a provider, Amber’s goal is to educate and empower her patients to the point that they are comfortable asking the “why” questions. She also loves to serve as a preceptor for student midwives and nurse practitioners, and you will frequently find her joyfully teaching and guiding the next generation.
