Jennifer is a board-certified (PNCB) pediatric nurse practitioner of both primary and acute care. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The University of Texas at Austin in 2006.
She attended graduate school at the University of Texas at Arlington. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing in 2013 in order to become a nurse practitioner with a specialty in pediatric primary care and a Post-Master’s Certificate in Nursing in 2015 in order to become a nurse practitioner of pediatric acute care.
Jennifer began her career as a nurse in the pediatric intensive care unit as Texas Children’s Hospital. Before becoming a mother herself, this job taught her that each child is the center of someone’s universe and deserves to be treated with all the care and love in the world. It also taught her about both the fragility of life and the incredible resilience of children. As a nurse practitioner, Jennifer started her practice in primary care, working for a wonderful and knowledgeable pediatrician in Frisco, TX. There she discovered how fun and rewarding it is to guide and support families in keeping their children healthy. She was continually impressed by her clients’ knowledge and expertise when it came to their children’s health. She has also worked in pediatric urgent care and with surgical services at Children’s Medical Center in Dallas.
Jennifer has a passion for improving the lives of children. She feels it is important to honor and support families as they care for their children. Her goal is to be a collaborator and advisor for families, who are the specialists in their unique child’s needs. With robust training and background in conventional medicine, Jennifer has also spent the last 5 years learning as much as she can about alternative modalities for supporting and improving health. She likes to incorporate holistic and integrative methods of healthcare whenever possible.
Jennifer is a member of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and Sigma Theta Tau, the Honor Society of Nursing. Over the years, she has volunteered in community clinics, women’s wellness and refugee health screenings, and as a parenting and healthcare mentor.
Jennifer lives in McKinney with her husband, Adrian, who is a high school band director. They have two beautiful children, a daughter, 7, and a son who was caught by Midwife Teri in 2017! When not chasing after her busy kids, she enjoys reading, running, yoga, and gardening.
